| Personal History | A Caitian Doctor of almost 20 Years experience, Dr. J.R. McEntyre hails from the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex of Old Texas on Earth. He was raised on a cattle ranch, where he developed his interests and asperations first tending to the sick or wounded animals on the ranch and then to doctoring humans when he grew older. He attended Baylor College of Medicine at 16 years old on a merit based scholarship where he ranked in the top 30 in his class, and scored well in his surgical internship and residency before attending Starfleet Academy's Officer Canidate School and gaining his commission just as the Dominion War kicked off. J.R was rushed to the frontline as doctors were of short supplies and casualties mounting. J.R put his surgical talents to use on MASH units near to the front. Long brutal hours in surgeries under fire, Jem'Hadar appearing behind the wire at the worst times. The war years tempered the fire of the eager Caitian and showed the realness of the galaxy. J.R was on ships and hospitals up until the Cardassian invasion. He spent most of Late 2375-2376 on Cardassia tending to the wounded, aiding in rebuilding hospitals and medical centers that were destroyed after the Dominion turned on the Cardassians. After the War, J.R. has primary served on Starships on the Frontier, a request he's made for every post. A longing to be on the last frontier, so to speak, according to him after three long years of warfare. He envisions himself as something of a Country Doctor, his Texan accent does much to help that claim, though find him in the right mood and he's as soft as a kitten. In his downtime, he enjoys woodworking and painting Western Scenes. He hasn't made time for relationships but would given the right partner, finding more attracted to guys than the gals.
